“For many children school isn’t just a place for learning. It’s a lifeline for consistent, healthy meals,” Pantry 279 explained in its 2026 Children’s Summer Food Program materials. “But what happens when school is out for the summer? That’s where Pantry 279 steps in.”
Every year, Pantry 279’s Children’s Summer Food Program helps around 3,600 children who rely on school meals during the academic year continue receiving food during summer break. The program provides food from May through August and brings that support directly into local communities through five weekly pop-up pantry locations across Monroe, Owen, Greene, and Lawrence counties.
“Seeing the impact they make every single day in the lives of kids and families is incredibly moving,” Vicky Nunn said. “They create hope, comfort and love to our children and local communities.”
For Vicky Nunn, supporting Pantry 279 is one way to stay connected to the people and families the Ken Nunn Law Office has served for decades, as her father Ken Nunn did before her.
