Bloomington Sheriff’s Department Receives Donation for Vest Revamp

Attorney Ken Nunn with volunteer officerBloomington, Ind. – Local personal injury lawyer and active community member Attorney Ken Nunn has made a donation to the Bloomington Sheriff’s Department. This financial donation helped the department reach its goal of buying the much-needed new bulletproof vests for its volunteer department.

The volunteer department officers, who serve as part-time reserves for the full-time officers, have been in desperate need of a vest revamp. These officers’ main responsibilities are to help with traffic detail, such as aiding people who are stranded on the side of the road.
Some of these officers have been wearing bulletproof vests that are 25 to 30 years old. One of the officers told Ken Nunn and his team that they had even worn a vest that had expired over three years ago.

This conversation with the officer showed Ken Nunn and his team just how urgent it was for these officers to receive new vests. There was no question that this donation would provide a huge help for those who serve to help our community.

Thanks in part to Ken Nunn’s donation, the volunteer department was able to order all of the vests that were needed. Two volunteer officers even came to thank Ken for his donation.

After ordering the much-needed vests, the department also had money left over from the donation funds. Putting this money to good use, the rest of the donation went to the hiring department to try and bring in more officers.
